The apricot

The apricot is a fruit that brings together an unique array of characteristics – its look, colour, texture, flavour and taste -, which make it so much appreciated, either as a fresh or a dried fruit, as well as used in confectionery, jams and juices.

There are multiple varieties of apricots, being those of orange-reddish colour the most sought ones among the consumers.

 

Our production

From the very beginning of the planning of this project we had in mind the aim of producing only apricots of high quality. For that we have selected apricot trees which would grant the excellence and finesse of the fruit’s flavour, taste and smoothness. 

Knowing that the market currently favours the big size of the fruit, we actively strive to achieve it, having in mind, at the same time, that not always the biggest possible is the most flavoured one – so we search for a compromise of these factors in our production. Thus the average size of our apricots corresponds to the Gauge 1 or higher (bigger than 40 mm), always keeping its essential characteristics of aroma and flavour.

Within two years we will be also producing a new kind of apricot, with an intense red colour and a high Brix.

Nutritional facts

The apricot contributes to a healthy alimentation, being rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, C and flavonoids, as well as in fiber. These properties promote a balanced function of our organism, having specially benefits on vision, digestive health and blood circulation, being implicated in the prevention of inflammatory diseases.
